Spotlight on Entrepreneurs

A One-Minute Pitch Opportunity for Technology Entrepreneurs

Are you looking for funding, team members or other resources to launch your technology business? Is time of the essence? Then Spotlight on Entrepreneurs is for you. In one minute you can reach over 100 audience members, many of whom are interested in helping start-up companies. There is a good chance that just the right connection can be made with investors, bankers, advisors, attorneys, employees, team members, or mentors.

The WPI Venture Forum is specifically oriented to help nascent technology companies make the connections they need to help them grow. When they participate in Spotlight on Entrepreneurs they gain focused, useful exposure for their technology company, the opportunity to perfect their elevator speech, and potential audience member interest. In addition, the pitch will be highlighted in the WPI Venture Forum Vantage newsletter, posted on our web site, and possibly included in Mass High Tech’s “The Pitch” column.

Logistics

The "spotlight" turns on at approximately 7:15pm at the Second Tuesday monthly programs on the WPI campus in Worcester, MA. You will have one timed minute to make your pitch and you may use a PowerPoint slide. The office can create a slide for you from the form below, or you may bring an external device containing the slide.

Eligibility and Rules

Entrepreneurs starting technology-based companies are selected on a first-come-first served basis and are allowed one minute to make one pitch per season per business idea. The pitch may not be used as a sales opportunity. It can only be used to describe the business and ask for funding or potential partners. Technology for license may also be pitched if seeking funding, partners, or a company to license the technology. When one-minute is up, the talking must stop.
