Attendees of the January 12, 2010 WPI Venture Forum Monthly Program are welcome to ask Intellectual Property questions of the following attorneys during the 5:30-6:30 p.m. networking hour.

Christine Wise - focuses on the development, management and protection of intellectual property rights with a particular emphasis in the area of biologics, including antibody-based therapeutics, genetics, including genetic diagnostics, protein-based sensors, immunology, and drug discovery and development.

David Thibodeau, Jr. - patent prosecution, licensing and transactions, patent portfolio development and strategy, and intellectual property litigation. He has particular expertise in patent prosecution in the electronics and computer areas, including wireless communications, data security, storage systems, telecommunications, and integrated circuits.  David serves on the WPI Venture Forum Program Committee.

Pamela Torpey - practices in the areas of biotechnology, pharmaceutical, chemistry and medical device industries with domestic and international patent preparation and prosecution. Pam is a frequent presenter for the Collaborative for Entrepreneurship & Innovation programs.

Eric Balicky - a Patent Agent with the firm for more than five years and practices in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical and chemistry areas, with an emphasis on preparation and prosecution of domestic and international patents and IP due diligence.

Doreen Hogle - focused in immunology, molecular biology, protein and nucleic acid chemistry, genetics, structural biology, chemistry, drug discovery, small molecule pharmaceuticals, metabolomics and medical devices.

 

Brian M. Dingman - a registered patent attorney with more than 20 years of experience counseling clients in worldwide patent procurement and enforcement strategies. He represents clients in patent infringement proceedings in federal courts throughout the United States. His practice focuses on representing companies with critical intellectual property requirements. He assists clients in developing strategies to procure patents in the United States and overseas. He writes and prosecutes patent applications throughout the world. He also counsels and assists clients in procuring trademarks and copyrights. Brian has experience positioning intellectual property assets for sale or license and negotiating and drafting intellectual property transfer agreements. Brian serves on the WPI Venture Forum Executive Board, the Program Committee, and has run the Business Plan Contest for many, many years.

Roger P. Zimmerman - extensive experience in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, chemistry and medical devices. He has been involved in various aspects of patent practice, including client counseling, licensing and agreements, and preparation and prosecution of U.S. and international patent applications in the chemical, pharmaceutical, medical device and biotechnology fields. Roger has presented IP workshops for the Collaborative for Entrepreneurship & Innovation at WPI.

 

Jacob N. (Jesse) Erlich - represents a wide array of clients such as universities and small and large technology companies in diverse technological fields. He provides advice on patents and other forms of intellectual property, licensing and government related matters and is also involved with the preparation and prosecution of patent applications (U.S. and foreign). In a representative case, Mr. Erlich obtained intellectual property protection for a client and thereafter was instrumental in negotiating and preparing agreements transferring a substantial portion of the intellectual property to a major company.  Jesse is former President of the Boston Patent :aw Association and he serves on the Board of Directors of the New England Chapter of the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA). Jesse has presented several IP workshops for WPI.

Kathy Chapman - a registered patent attorney with extensive experience in providing intellectual property strategy advice and prosecuting US and PCT patent applications in high technology areas such as computer networking, computer collaboration, computer databases, artificial intelligence, computer/device interfaces, peripherals, computer languages, and medical devices.  Her practice focuses on university, small business, and entrepreneur inventors. Ms. Chapman is a member of the presenter selection committee for the New Hampshire High Tech Council's Enterprise Forum.   She is a certified Engineer-in-Training, and is an adjunct professor of patent law at Pierce Law.

Dr. Rhonda P. Moore - her representation involves patent procurement especially in the area of worldwide strategic patent and trademark portfolio development, merger and acquisition due diligence, intellectual property licensing, and validity, freedom to operate, and non-infringement analysis. Her clients' technologies include  medical devices for interventional procedures, in the urogenital, cardiovascular, gastrointestinal and neurological, wound healing products, diagnostic assays, automated clinical analytical instrumentation, endoscopic equipment, pharmaceuticals, gene therapy, cell-based therapies, and recombinant medical products.
