The 3rd Annual WPI Venture Forum Five-Minute Elevator Pitch Contest for Entrepreneurs contemplating, starting, running or operating early-stage technology ventures will take place on June 9, 2009.

Contestants will be selected by a panel of industry professionals from the pool of applicants based on the quality of their business profile. Five-minute presentations will be made on June 9, 2009 at the WPI Venture Forum program. At the event, each contestant will be given five minutes to pitch their business to the judges and Forum audience. Each presentation will be followed by a two-minute open discussion between the judges and the entrepreneur. The judges will then rate each case on its business model, innovation, market opportunity, leadership team, and presentation quality. The audience will do the same through handheld voting devices. Once the pitches are completed, the judges will select the winner of the top prize in a brief and closed deliberation. An audience prize will also be awarded based on the electronic voting results.
